Emily Chase recently directed Eight Nights at Antaeus (LA Times Critics Choice, Ovation Recommended). Her other directing credits include Dakin Matthews’s Divorce Court Hell  (Antaeus); productions at Sierra Madre Playhouse, The Road Theatre, Theater 40, and numerous developmental workshops at Antaeus, The Road Theatre, Playwrights Union, Moving Arts, Met Theater, and Classical Theater Lab. Her past classes at the Antaeus Academy include: It’s Alive! The Nuts and Bolts of Acting in New Plays; Modern Classics; and Ringing the Rafters: Voice for the Classical Actor. She has taught acting and directed productions at UCLA, the University of Southern California, U.C. Riverside, AMDA, and A Noise Within. She is the Director of the Antaeus Playwrights Lab. As an actress, she has performed at Antaeus in As You Like It, Tonight at 8:30, Cousin Bette, Peace In Our Time, Patience, Trial By Jury, The Liar. Additional acting credits include South Coast Rep, Mark Taper Forum, The Matrix Theatre, The El Portal Theatre, Getty Center, Ford Theater, and in TV, film, and web series. A former board member, he’s acted, produced, designed, and production managed for Antaeus. He is a founding member of Andak Stage Company. Los Angeles credits include the west coast premieres of Ira Levin’s Cantorial (University of Judaism) and Denial by Peter Sagal (El Portal.) The Angeles of Lemnos, The Merchant of Venice (The Road Company.) and others. He has appeared in films and television, recorded a series of audio books and worked as a voice-over artist. A project manager and design consultant, he conceived and designed one of the three performance venues at the El Portal Theatre. He served on the North Hollywood Public Art Advisory Committee, and in multiple capacities helping develop the NoHo Arts District.

Anna has appeared at the Royal Court in London, Berkeley Rep, ACT, San Diego Rep, Pasadena Playhouse, Mark Taper Forum, and Geffen. Her favorite performances include Peace In Our Time (Ovation Award winner), Holly Jolly Xmas, Deathtroupe, Patience, Trial by Jury, Of Thee I Sing, Bullshot Crummond, Dracula: A Musical Nightmare, Spokesong, and An Evening at Widow Begbick’s. Anna won two Drama-Logue Critic’s Awards for her roles in Footlight Frenzy and The Metamorphosis. She is a member of The Spolin Players, Fred Willard’s MoHo’s, and The Second City Alumni Jam. Anna has appeared with L.A. Theatre Works: Uncle Vanya and Cyrano. Anna’s voice has also graced Better Call Saul, Air Force One for the BBC, Turn, Gossip Girl, NCIS, Water for Elephants, The Hangover, Borat, 24, Dennis the Menace (as Alice Mitchell) as well as countless video games. She has a degree in Dramatic Arts from UC Berkeley.

Bill Mendieta has also worked with many theaters around the country. At ANTAEUS has been in The Man Who Had All the Luck, The Proof of the Promise, A Tale of Charles Dickens, and Trial By Jury, many ClassicsFests, and most recently, The Zip Code Plays. Over the last few years, Bill played Ricky Ricardo in I Love Lucy Live On Stage in Los Angeles, Chicago and the 1st national tour. He earned the Best Actor Broadway-World Award for his performance. He has had leading roles in award-winning films including Best Picture (AFI Dallas film festival, etc.) for Soldier of God, and Trés. He’s also appeared on NBC’s Days of Our Lives and was in the web series, The Sanctum and in The Nevermore Chronicles.  Bill co-wrote and directed the comedy web series, Mob Boss Associate and directed the plays Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the world premieres of Beauty, Brains and Personality and Pray To Ball, which is now being developed into a feature film. Film credits as a director include Dodgy Dish, Slow Dance and in-house projects for the Mattel Corporation. His staging and multimedia credits include Tango del Cielo, which is currently on tour throughout North America.  Bill has taught numerous workshops for the Music Center in LA (Will & Company), Shakespeare At Play, The Antaeus Company and the Joffrey Ballet.

Jeffrey has been acting professionally for over 25 years.  He received his MFA in Acting at Southern Methodist University and began his career on the stage both in New York and regional theatres. He was seen in Richard Greenberg’s Take Me Out at The Geffen as well as the premiere of Robert Schenkkan’s Lewis And Clark Reach The Euphrates at the Mark Taper Forum.  His other regional credits include The Old Globe, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and many others.  His New York credits include Shakespeare In The Park, The Public Theatre and CSC.  He has been a member of The Antaeus Company since the beginning and has participated in many productions and projects. Jeffrey’s film and television work has spanned his entire career including seasons on 24, Desperate Housewives, Body Of Proof, Rake, Killer Women and the films Tron, Home Of The Brave, Surfer Dude, Flicka and Flight 93 for A&E. Other work: HBO’s And The Band Played On and Citizen Cohn, as well as Arrow, Malibu Country, Cloud 9, Once And Again, Ask Me Again, Providence, Apollo 11, Quiz Show, Ruby, Working Girl, Holy Matrimony, Mighty Ducks 3, and many others.

A proud member of the Antaeus Company since 1991, Melinda has appeared in Company productions of Peace in Our Time, Pera Palas, The Man Who Had All The Luck, Patience, The Long Christmas Dinner, Trial By Jury, Tonight at 8:30, The Plot To Overthrow Christmas among others as well as countless readings, workshops and presentations. In the Southern California theater community she has appeared on a number of stages and received an Ovation nomination for her work in The Illustrated Woman and won Dramalogue awards for Fools Die Fast and for her portrayal as Eleonora Duse in Lillian Groag’s The Ladies of the Camellias.  She has worked at regional theaters across the country (most recently as Agatha Christie in Agatha Christie & the BBC Murders), has made numerous guest appearances on television, has lent her talents to several independent films and writes and performs radio comedy with her darling husband, Philip Proctor.

Lawrence Pressman has appeared on Broadway in Woody Allen’s Play It Again, Sam; both in London and on Broadway in Man in the Glass Booth directed by Harold Pinter; and in Show People at New York’s Second Stage. His regional credits include No Man’s Land at the Odyssey Theatre; Of Equal Measure at CTG’s Kirk Douglas Theatre; the premiere of The Paris Letter; Wood Demon, Richard III, A Month in the Country, and a leading role in the final workshop of Perestroika at the Mark Taper Forum; Chekhov X 4 and Tonight at 8:30 at Antaeus; and performances at La Jolla Playhouse and the Ahmanson Theatre. Other favorite credits include Betrayal, The Birthday Party (Matrix), Long Day’s Journey into Night, and King Lear. Lawrence’s nominations and awards include Ovation, Drama-Logue, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, Garland, Maddy, LA Weekly, GLAAD, and Broadway’s Theatre World Award. He has more than 150 television and film credits, including Transparent, Doogie Howser, M.D.; and Hart of Dixie.

Phil Proctor is a 15-year member of Antaeus and a 50-year member of the thrice-Grammy-nominated Firesign Theatre, recognized as one of the “Thirty Greatest Acts of All Time” with a recording in the Library of Congress. He’s appeared on-and-off Broadway, on street corners in the USSR with the Yale Russian Chorus, in many local and regional theatres, on radio, and in scores of films, video games and TV shows. He’s won Theatre World, LA Weekly, LA Free Press and Drama Critics’ awards, and his voice credits include Toy Story, Spirited Away, Monsters, Inc., Seahorse Bob in Finding Nemo, the Drunken French Monkey in Dr. Dolittle, Dr. Vidic in Assassin’s Creed, and Howard DeVille in the Emmy-winning Rugrats, with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is currently featured in the independent films Window of Opportunity, Charity and The Love Addict and tours in a one-man reading of Don Quixote with the L.A. Guitar Quartet.

Janellen is well-known to Los Angeles theater audiences. She most recently appeared in Native Gardens at Coachella Valley Rep. Other credits: Maria Vasilyevna Voynitskaya in Uncle Vanya at New American Theatre. And she appeared in the original cast of its precursor, The Wood Demon, at The Mark Taper Forum, where she also appeared in A Flaw in the Ointment at Taper Too. Janellen has also performed at The Old Globe. In L.A. at: L.A. Theatreworks, East/West Players, the Getty Villa, The Odyssey, The Fountain Theatre, Sacred Fools,The Evidence Room, 24th Street Theatre, and in several productions with The Antaeus Company of which she is a founding member. She has appeared on TV in shows such as Sleeper Cell, Roseanne, Strong Medicine and in independent films. She has also appeared at regional theaters from Ohio, to New York, to Key West. Janellen is also a jazz vocalist and as a voice over actor, she can be heard in numerous video games, animation, radio and T.V commercials, and dubs English into international television films and series. She helped develop and lead Antaeus’ Education Outreach program and has taught for Antaeus Academy.

Marcelo, a founding member of ANTAEUS in 1991, performed in Three Days In The Country, Henry IV Part I, You Can't Take It With You, The Wood Demon, The Man Who Had All the Luck, Trial by Jury, Patience, Of Mice and Men, to name a few.
