2026/27 Season Announcement

We Are Thrilled To Share Our 35th Anniversary Season With You!

Heartbreak House

by George Bernard Shaw
Directed by Nike Doukas
Dates: October 11 - November 16, 2026

“If we women were particular about men's characters, we should never get married at all.”

Will 20-year old Ellie Dunn fall out of love with her friend’s husband, into love with the 88-year-old Captain Shotover, or marry the mercenary Mr. Mangan so she can afford to buy gloves? In Shaw’s tribute to Chekhov, a menagerie of crackpots, dreamers and schemers, philosophers and thieves, search for the meaning of life and love.

Directed by Artistic Director Nike Doukas (The Hothouse, The Tempest, Cymbeline). Written in the shadow of World War I as the British Empire crumbled, this magical dark comedy asks: where do we find strength in the face of chaos?

Miss Julie: Freedom Summer

by Stephen Sachs
from the play by August Strindberg
Directed by Gregg T. Daniel

Dates: February 21 - March 29, 2027

“Easy, girl. You're playin' with fire.”

August Strindberg’s Miss Julie is transported to Mississippi in 1964 at the height of the Civil Rights Movement. Miss Julie and John have been circling each other for a long time, occupying the same house and living in two separate worlds. Tonight, their worlds will collide.

Antaeus Company Member Gregg T. Daniel (Wedding Band) directs Stephen Sachs’s revelatory adaptation; a story of love, memory, dreams, yearning and recklessness, and how personal choice is both informed and infected by racism.

Romeo and Juliet

by William Shakespeare
Directed by Cameron Watson
Dates: May 16 - June 21, 2027

“Two households both alike in dignity…”

In this love story for the ages, Romeo and Juliet struggle to find joy in opposition to their feuding families. The “ancient grudge” sets off a chain of brutal events that prove catastrophic, despite a love that is “as boundless as the sea.”

Director Cameron Watson (Picnic, Top Girls, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Little Foxes, Nora) sets this tragedy in a contemporary world, while remaining true to some of Shakespeare’s most gorgeous language and to this perfectly crafted love story.
