Scene Study: Resilience, Ferocity, and Liberation

In great plays from around the world, playwrights have given us wisdom, catharsis, and tenacity through their brilliant characters who have faced – and even overcome – history’s tempests. In this class, actors will explore scenes and monologues in works by such playwrights as Lynn Nottage, Quiara Alegría Hudes, Bertolt Brecht, Paula Vogel, August Wilson, Tony Kushner, Sophocles, Lorraine Hansberry, GB Shaw, among others.

Students are to bring a prepared, memorized monologue to the first class.

April 20, April 27, May 4, May 11, May 18, June 1, June 8, June 15
Please note: There will be no class May 25.

*Please note, students under 18 require permission from the moderator to take this academy class. If you’re in this category, please reach out to us at academy@antaeus.org.
