Ryan McRee
Dramaturg
Ryan McRee is a director, dramaturg, and educator working in the greater Los Angeles area. Currently pursuing his MFA in Performance Pedagogy at Loyola Marymount University, part of his research traces dialectical character development in various dramatic models, especially tragedy. His theatre history course at LMU particularly emphasizes the civic nature of Greek tragedy and how theatre stages societal conflict, angst, and desire. Dramaturgy credits at Antaeus include Everybody, Measure for Measure, Eight Nights, The Abuelas, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, and The Little Foxes. Ryan also authors Antaeus’ student matinee study guides, and has done so for All My Sons, Cymbeline, The Glass Menagerie, Twelfth Night, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Winter’s Tale, and SHE. He has his B.A. in Theatre and Narrative Studies from the University of Southern California.
