2021 LA County Department of Arts & Culture
Audience & Donor Relations Intern
The intern will learn successful strategies for community, audience, and donor engagement as they work to support our community-facing programs, including the Antaeus Book Club and educational community events connected to Season 2 of The Zip Code Plays: Los Angeles. Working with an accomplished team of artists and administrators, the intern will learn desirable skills in fundraising, community engagement, and non-profit arts administration. This is a part-time internship (approximately 15 hours a week) planned for June through December, including some evenings and weekends. If conditions allow us to return to producing in-person events, this internship would support those efforts. If social distancing and safety restrictions continue into late 2021, this would be a remote position, supporting virtual events only.
This position is suited to someone with an interest in live theater and a desire to learn about fundraising and event management. The Audience and Donor Relations Intern must have a friendly, professional demeanor, and be comfortable in a public-facing role. Strong communication skills (in person, on the phone, and in writing), and computer proficiency are required. Experience with media platforms and digital technology skills are preferred. The ideal candidate should be: resourceful, reliable, organized, motivated, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about the mission and programs at Antaeus.
Antaeus is a professional, non-profit theater company that explores and produces timely and timeless works, grounded in our passion for the Classics. We illuminate diverse human experiences through performance, training, and outreach. Our 2020/21 year runs from September through August, with programs and activities including The Zip Code Plays (an original audio play series), Antaeus Academy classes, Antaeus Book Club meetings, community-based Arts Education partnerships, the Antaeus Playwrights Lab, and our 30th Anniversary Reading Series.
