SHE

A World Premiere

by Marlow Wyatt

Directed by Andi Chapman

Dates: October 15 - November 20, 2023

“Dreams take you places even when you’re standing still…”

After receiving a rare opportunity to attend a prestigious boarding school, 13-year old SHE is forced to face the harsh realities of adult life, discovering that the small town she was so desperate to escape is filled with the very people who give her wings to fly.

This uplifting, lyrical tale of a young woman finding her voice is written by Antaeus-commissioned playwright Marlow Wyatt and directed by Andi Chapman who brought Antaeus’s productions of Native Son and The Abuelas to vivid life.

The Winter's Tale

by William Shakespeare

Directed by Elizabeth Swain

Dates: February 4 - March 11, 2024

“I doubt not then but innocence shall make
False accusation blush and tyranny
Tremble at patience…”

When Leontes, King of Sicilia, falsely accuses his wife of an affair with his best friend, he sets into motion a series of events that catapult two kingdoms into disarray in William Shakespeare’s sweeping romance of passion and forgiveness.

Director Elizabeth Swain, fresh from Antaeus’s award-winning 2022 production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet brings her vast knowledge of the canon to tackling the timely question, “How do you forgive the unforgivable?”

Nora

A Stage Version of Ibsen's A Doll's House

by Ingmar Bergman

Translated by Frederick J. Marker & Lise-Lone Marker

Directed by Cameron Watson

Dates: April 21 - May 26, 2024

I’ve got to find out which view is the right one, society’s or mine…”

On Christmas Eve, Nora Helmer, whose world is built entirely around her domineering husband, must confront blackmail, financial ruin, the consequences of her past actions, and the unsettling truth about her life.

Legendary filmmaker Ingmar Bergman’s adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s 1879 masterpiece, A Doll’s House distills the play down to its essential core. Director Cameron Watson (Antaeus’s Top Girls, Picnic, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Little Foxes) explores the passion and heart of a woman — and a marriage — in crisis.

The IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST

by Oscar Wilde

Directed by Gregg T. Daniel

“Oh, pleasure, pleasure! What else should bring one anywhere?”

When bachelors Jack and Algernon both create alter egos named “Earnest” the lies quickly spiral into chaos, hilarity, cucumber sandwiches, and Victorian handbags.

Oscar Wilde’s “Trivial Comedy for Serious People,” with its sparkling wit, quotable lines, and unforgettable characters promises to be just the antidote for our own troubling times. Antaeus Company member Gregg T. Daniel (Wedding Band) helms this delightful high farce.
