In this class, Daniel Blinkoff will explore improvisation as a kinesthetic exchange of energy and offers. The training is based on the idea that improvisers are funnier and cleverer if they are not trying to be. Based on his training from The Yale School of Drama, The Moscow Arts Theatre School, and the Improv Theatre Company, Daniel incorporates techniques from all three of these places of study to develop a comprehensive language of structure that the ensemble can rely on to build a long form narrative. Here’s what some people have said regarding the class:

“Getting to play and explore was a blast; from the more traditional improvisation warm ups to the Meisner work. It was invaluable! This intelligent, mindful, artful approach to improvisation made the whole process feel more like a craft than a game, and the results were richer for it.” -Ben Atkinson

“Daniel is an expert and truly knowledgeable about Improv. His class is great fun no matter your range of experience! -Anna Mathias

“Danny’s class was one of my favorite improv class experiences. He helped me focus more on the joy of creating rather than what I am lacking as a performer, and to realize how much information and emotionality I can unpack from small, seemingly unimportant moments. He is kind, hilarious and humble. This is all 100% true!” Seychelle Gabriel

“Loved the class! I like that the teaching is more acting based, and approaches the work from a more fundamental place, whereas other improv classes tend to gloss over connections between actors in order to get to the improv.” Michael Villanueva

“This class uses a wonderful layering technique of teaching. We went deeper and deeper into the land of improv and before we knew it, we created stories through the tools that Daniel so expertly, hilariously and graciously laid at our feet. I had a ball! I’m going back for more!” Judy Louise Johnson
